What times are check-in and check-out ?
Check in after 3 pm. Check out before 11 am.
How do I obtain the key to the condo ?
Ask your reservationist to provide this information. If your arrival time at the condo is after 4 pm. please advise your reservationist to give you the self entry procedure.
How can I obtain trip insurance ?
Trip insurance can be purchased as a wholly separate contract from TRAVEL GUARD. You purchase and make payment for the policy directly to them. Their website is: travelguard.com.
Where is the closest grocery store ?
The Tradewinds Mart is a store for a few basic items and is within walking distance of the condos. For larger grocery orders there is Safeway, Star Market or Foodland in Kihei which is a short 7 minute drive from the condos. There is also a Safeway in Kahului.
What is the beach like in this area ?
Maalaea (Sugar) Beach is one of nicest and longest beaches in
Hawaii. You can walk to the end of Hauoli Street to Sugar Beach and walk for almost 5 miles to the south on white sandy beaches year round.
Great snorkeling in this area is due to the beautiful
coral reefs that are plentiful. Directly in front of
Maalaea Banyans is the best whale watching from
December through April. Occassional breaching and blowholes from
whales are common during this time of year.
What about bugs or insects ?
There are little critters in paradise but you will
find the condominium building virtually free of
insects. They should not be a bother to you since the
condos are treated typically four times a year. If you
should have a problem, the front desk can assist
you.
Do I need a car ?
Most likely yes. Major markets and attractions are
west to Lahaina and Kaanapali, south to Kihei and
Wailea and north to Kahului.
If you want to explore the best of the island, a
rental car is the best way to go especially east to
Hana and upcountry to Haleakala Crater.
How far is it from the Kahului Airport to Maalaea Banyans ?
The Kahului Airport is the main airport into Maui and
is an easy 15 minutes to the condos. The car
rental agencies may be accessed from the airport
via a rental car shuttle van that runs every few
minutes for each individual agency. If you rent a
car, first obtain a driving map from your agency.
Follow our directions to the
condos which are found on the maps page.
What do I need to take with me ?
The normal temperatures on Maui range from about 80
to 85 degrees with night time temperatures of 65 to
70 degrees.
Usually you will not need those heavy mainland
clothes. Common apparel is shorts and a light shirt
with sandals or tennis type
shoes, even in the evenings. You may want to take a
light coat or sweater, just in case. At most
restaurants the dress is casual; meaning shorts and a
nice shirt are the norm. You won’t need anything like
a sports coat. A Hawaiian shirt and slacks would be
considered formal enough for even upscale
restaurants. Don’t do a lot of shopping for
summer type clothes before you leave home as you will
find everything you need in one of the many clothing
shops in Lahaina or elsewhere on Maui. If you plan a
trip to Haleakala
Crater, you will be glad to have a sweatshirt with a
hood since temperatures range much lower there (32 to
50 degrees Farenheit) and there is much wind.
What does the Condominium have in it ?
Hopefully you will find your condo with all the
comforts of home. You will enjoy a complete kitchen
with all the necessary cooking utensils, typically a
bedroom with a queen size bed plus a queen size hide
a bed in the living room, a dining area, Television
with remote, VCR, microwave oven or
toaster oven, drip coffee maker, ironing board and iron, telephone, a
large lanai with table and 4 chairs, and a real feeling of the aloha
spirit with the artwork and furnishings.
May we have a crib for our baby ?
Yes. Cribs and rollaways can be provided at an
additional charge from Babies Away at 808-875-9030 or
from Wild Wheel Wentals at 800-339-4743. Please order from them if needed when you book with us.
Is there daily maid service ?
We try to be friendly to the environment by not
washing and changing the sheets and towels daily.
Daily maid service can be provided for an additional
charge. Make your best deal with the onsite maid.
If there is an emergency and you need
anything please see the resident manager.

Pack Smart
It's happened to you before. You get back from your vacation and realize that you didn't wear about half of what you packed. And half of your wardrobe took a vacation with you. There's no science to smart packing, just a few key tips to remember when you're getting ready to head out for Maui.
Lay everything out that you plan to bring. Then put half of it back. Most times you just don't need to bring everything you think you'll wear.
Lay out the money you think you'll need. Then double it.
Plan your wardrobe out ahead of time. If you put together outfits before you pack, you'll find you can mix and match, and eliminate extras you won't wear.
Roll up your clothes. If you pack your clothes in rolls, not only will it help them remain as wrinkle-free as possible, you can roll up small items and other accessories to save space.
Put socks and undergarments in your shoes. You can tuck your socks right into your shoes and save the space while keeping organized.
Save your dry-cleaning bags for packing your garment bags. If you put dry-cleaning bags in between your hanging items, it prevents wrinkling. It really works !
Just plan and organize and packing for your trip will be a breeze.
